Fat people….?

I just can’t seem to bring myself to hang out with them. Ever. I don’t mean the people with some extra fat on them, but the people that are actually fat. I’m 5′6″ and 200 pounds, but I have muscles(I go backpacking, canoeing, rock wall climbing, hiking, biking, or anyhtign liek that whenever I get the chance). So it’s not the people with some extra pounds, but the fat-fat people. I just don’t like obese people. (like if they’re old and fatter, that’s okay, people get larger as they age, but if they’re young(like forty and below) and fat, I can’t stand them)

Anyone else like this?
Or is there some of group of people you can’t stand?
Superficial? What’s so hard about getting up and walking every once in awhile? I’m two hundred damn pounds, and I’ll go backpacking for a week, carrying a sixty pound pack around for fifty miles for fun. PEOPLE CAN LEARN TO EAT LESS AND MOVE MORE!!

I can’t stand superficial people…

What are wild boar used for after they are hunted/killed?

It’s for a report. After being hunted/killed in the Medieval Ages, what were wild boar used for? My teacher mentioned using them for food, clothing, entertainment, etc etc etc. Details are appreciated.

The flesh of the boar would be eaten, the hide would be tanned and used for various leather projects. The blood was used to make blood sausage. The appendix of some animals such as the boar, sheep, etc were used as condoms. The ears, hooves, tail etc. were usually boiled down to make glue. The hair on the boar was used to make various kinds of brushes such as paint brushes, toothbrushes, clothing brushes, etc. After removing the flesh, the bones were used to make household utensils such as knife handles, buttons, etc. The parts that were not suitable for human consumption, and there was precious little that fell into that category at that time, might be used to feed dogs, cats or other carnivorous domestic animals. Sinew was used as thread and laces. The gut was cleaned and used as sausage casing or twisted into heavy cord that was used to make sports equipment such as tennis rackets, snow shoes, etc. If the boar had large tusks, which most do, they could be used for scrimshaw and turned into jewelry. Very little of a boar went to waste

Outdoor leadership schools???

I am interested in sending my 19 year old son to an outdoor/backpacking school for the summer. Does anyone have a suggestion? I have looked into NOLS and it seems like a good program, but expensive…any information would be welcome!

you will get what you pay for… if it is important, price shouldn’t matter…

Am I too Weird to Ever Get a Girlfriend? +10 Points?

I really want a girl who wants to explore life and not only party and go clubbing and bar hopping every weekend. Who who explores lifestyles and cultures. To try new restaurants, love music, concerts, road trips, some outdoor activities, travel exotic beaches, some shopping(fashion), movies, or just hanging out at home. Even going to Museums, backpacking in scary mysterious areas, and go on thrilling adventures.

Where would I even find people like this in college? And not some Bible Thumping Church Lover either

of course not!!

you sound really sweet and adventurous..and A LOT of women love that!
i am sure you will find someone who is as fun loving as you seem to be!!!

web cam/digital camera for expedition?

next year im going to central america for a month for my world challenge.

to try and get people to sponsor me and give me equipment, i would like to document the trip – videoing the trip

can anyone recommend a lightweight camera /webcam that is not ridicuosly expensive.

i will be doing trekking etc so it must be robust.

thanks in advance

For expedition it’s better to use camcorder with memory card. Look through Sanyo, Aiptek and JVC cams.

Does anyone know how to get a pure sine wave from a modified sine wave with least cost?

I have an 200 watt inverter, modified sine wave…I am going camping and using my audio equipment.
I get the usual cyclic hum with the inverter in my equipment…but I can not afford a pure sine wave inverter ($1200.00 starting prices) so can I eliminate the cyclic hum or can I change it to a pure sine wave with some parts or filters or does anyone have any advice on how to eliminate the cyclic hum of a square wave inverter in high end audio equipment? I am plugging the inverter into my car’s lighter/power outlet and not running the engine when using it.fyi

The process is complex and therefore expensive, so I dare say that it wouldn’t work out any cheaper than having the pure sine wave inverter to begin with.

I’m not sure exactly what equipment you are powering, however if that equipment uses adaptors that provide a DC input to them than you may want to investigate DC to DC conversion instead. Doing so would eliminate a step and provide a much cleaner power input for your equipment.
