i enjoy hiking, but the only problem is that my feet sart aching badly after onla a few hours, to the point in which i hate walking. are there anyways to prevent this or get better?
The previous answer about buying the right footwear is spot on. Additionally you need to work your way up to it. Make sure you’ve broken the boots in before you hit the trail. Start with short walks of about 1/2 hour, then start taking longer hikes, before too long you’ll be able to hit the rails all day.

We are getting married 25th Septmeber this year, and we are looking at the possibility of married quarters?
Neither of us have done this before so we are completely unsure on what we would need to do or who we would need to approach.
We are after some information on what kind of housing would be available to us, costs etc. By the time we are married, we will have 2 children aged 3.5 and 3 months.
We currently live in a privately rented 3 bed house away from any camp
If you could advise me at all on how and what we would need to do?
No need to flap about this as it is very straight forward. As soon as you are married your partner needs to get down to the unit welfare office and get an application for a Married Quarter(SFA). Once he has completed this it will need to be sent off to Defence Estates who will give you a provisional offer on a property within 60 days. If you decide to accept the offer then they will then provide you with a march-in date when you can take over the property. As it is your first service move you will have to pay for your own removals sadly but all subsequent moves will be paid for. In terms of the type of quarter you will receive, this differs greatly from unit to unit but you are eligible for a 3 bedroom quarter. The rent for the quarter will be taken at source from your husbands pay on a monthly basis and will be inclusive of water rates only, with all other utilities being down to yourselves to sort out. The rent amount will be dependant on the standard of the quarter, but from personal experience will range between £150 – £220 a month. Your husband will also have your Council Tax deducted at source as well and this is known as CILOCT (Charge In Lieu Of Council Tax), again this amount will be dictated by your local council and will vary up and down the country, as a family of 4 living in a 3 bedroom quarter in Bedfordshire we pay £120 a month.
Hopefully this has been of some help and should you need any clarification approach your welfare office who deal with this stuff on a daily basis.
camping chairs Any tips for camping with a toddler – couldn’t get our 2 yo to sleep?
Yesterday we took our 2 year old camping for the first time.
The day was great. He loved it. Ran about, jumped in mud and helped us gather wood for a fire. Perfect!
When it came to bed time however it was a nightmare. We normally put him to sleep about 7.30pm and we tried his normal routine with a bit of play after tea time, a wash, some milk then bed, and it took until gone 10 to get him settled, and everything we tried just seemed to result in a tantrum. Eventually we gave in trying and he just fell asleep in his camp chair next to the fire and we lifted him into his bed.
Finally! Or so we thought. When me and my partner went to bed about 1am, the sound of us getting into the tent must have woke him up and that caused an almighty scene until we let him sleep with us. Then he woke up at 6 and as he was knackered this too caused a massive tantrum to the extent that we packed up and left!
Any tips for next time ??
You might try setting up the tent at home.It helped us a lot.My son was the same way at first. Over time, he loved to camp. Keep trying,it’s worth it.

My troop wants everyone with a leadership position to attend the PLC’s and if they don’t meet the required percentage of the plc’s they cant have there leadership position. I have been missing a majority of them, but i have actively participated in everything else. According to the BSA website only the Patrol leaders and a few others mentioned are supposed to go, but the scribe is not mentioned. Several troop websites also don’t have the scribe go. Can anyone help me?
in my troop the scribe goes to the plc to write what the spl and pl do
