do you know the camping prices of most or all national parks?

i want to live out of my car for a while and i think it’d be cool to camp and spend a lot of time in some national parks. does anyone know camping prices or the best way to go about doing this? or maybe any better ideas about places to camp? thanks!
p.s. i’ve looked up the web site and have tried to find out. i know you can pay a certain price for a pass that allows you entrance to all of the parks for a year, but this doesn’t include camping.

It depends where you go and which campsite you choose. Some parks are more expensive than others, and different campgrounds can have different prices.
Start here: http://www.nps.gov/
Choose the state you want. CA http://www.nps.gov/state/ca/
Pick the park you want. Joshua Tree http://www.nps.gov/jotr/
Go to plan your visit, fees and regulations, then down to camping http://www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/camping.htm
You see there are some that cost $10, two of those have water, one doesn’t, the rest are $5/night with no water. Some are entirely group sites or have group sites that cost more.

Other more crowded parks, like Yosemite or Yellowstone require reservations for many of their camp grounds, while others in the park are first come/first serve. http://www.nps.gov/archive/yose/trip/camping.htm#campgrounds

Ideas for 4th, 5th, and 6th grader room decorations.?

I am going to be counseling a camp for one week this summer and we are supposed to decorate the rooms. So i need ideas for a “bedroom” that 4th 5th and 6th grade Girls would like. The only thing I ask is it be something that is kinda easy to find at local stores. Anything else would be a greatttttttttt help.

If there are windows get those removable things to put on them. also just go to a party store and get things to put on the walls and stuff, you will probably find a bunch that all of them would like. try to make it really energetic like too, so they want to jump up and do something exciting. =)

Snacks/junk food to bring for camp?

We’re staying in a state-of-the-art modern cabin with a refrigerator, stoves, oven, kitchen, and microwave. So far my ideas are:

-Pretzels + chocolate dip
-Wonka Nerds
-Fruit Rollups
-Dried fruit
-Pizza hot pockets as a late nite snack if we’re still hungry
i don’t want food that causes a lot of mess like Hot cheetos (makes your hand red and makes your mouth feel weird after)

There are a lot of different types of nuts & fruits. Fruits are especially delicious when they come out of the refrigerator even if they are canned. If you have a freezer at camp & a way to keep it frozen til you get to camp or if you can buy it after you get there, ice cream is generally peoples’ favorite. Also don’t forget the endless list of cookies, candy, chips, puddings, jello, custards, etc. Alot of snacks & foods come in portable, single-serving sizes that don’t need immediate refrigeration if any. Bring some utensils & disposable dishes, napkins, etc. if you want to snack on the road. If you don’t know what specifically want, go to the store & look around in these & other categories including the more healthier categories. Also, check out the bakery, deli, frozen food section & well, just everywhere in the store. You will have endless ideas if you do that. :D

If I fill a glass bottle with post 1982 pennies and put in a hot fire, will the pennies melt?

If I fill a glass bottle with post 1982 pennies and put in a hot wood stove or a hot camp fire, will the pennies melt (or partial melt-merge)?

I am going for a bottle shape clearly identifiable as pennies, as though the edges melted together….

I don’t think the bottle will shatter, I’ve hade many bottles in the fire and none have ever shattered…
I know I cannot melt the copper, but will the thin copper coating really withhold the liquid zinc within? I know I can melt the zinc ( I know I can hit 800 degrees)

Post-1982 pennies are made from copper-clad zinc. Now zinc melts at 787 F, so if you get a blazing hot campfire going, the insides will melt. (I’ve melted aluminum beer cans in campfires before, and aluminum melts at 1221 F). Now, whether the copper covering will melt is a different story — copper melts at 1984, so it’d have to be a REALLY hot fire, probably hotter than you can get burning wood. You’d probably have to have a charcoal or coke fire to melt the copper.

Guess the best thing to do would be to try it and see if it works.

I don’t suppose you’ve considered welding them together? (Probably too much work.)
