What are the best hiking trails in the San Francisco bay area?

Looking for easy/moderate difficulty trails, with lots of natural beauty. There are a lot of lists, but no rankings that I could find. What are the top 5 or 10?

Swimming with your period?

So, Im 13 and I haven’t gotten my period yet… and im going to camp for 2 weeks, and I want to be prepared if I get it at camp. I’m bringing some pads, but ive never inserted a tampon (as this would be my first period) and its an outdoor camp, with compulsory swimming lessons..Would I be ok without a tampon? Its in a lake, and because its my first period, will it be light enough to go unnoticed? And also, will my flow stop in the water? If the only alternative IS a tampon, what can I do…

Thanks so much

You might be ok without one, but chances are, itll stain your bathing suit. Its myth that the first time you get your period its light; Some girls are pretty heavy. No, it will not stop in the water. My advice is that if you DO start your period at camp, go straight to the restrooms and put in a tampon. Its sooo much easier, cleaner, and comfortable during the day.

As for stressing about it; DONT spend all summer worrying about getting it. It might not come for years. It will probably go unnoticed if you play it off. Dont be nervous. It is exciting but dont worry about it so much kayy :)

where do I lodge a complaint dealing with a bad resort in Eminence MO?

My family and I have just concluded a vacation in Eminence Mo. We stayed a week at Eminence canoes, cottages and camp resort. Our reservations were made in January of 2006 for the week of 7/8-06 to 7/14/06.
Upon our arrival our hosts had increased our confirmed price by $250.00, after some arguement the price was reduced to the price confirmed on the reservation inatially made in January. However there was an additional discount to be given for cash payment which was refused by the resort hosts. Are reservation conformations binding on just myself or on both parties?

A reservation is a binding agreement insofar as cost goes.

If the amount of money in question is large enough, I’d recommend contacting an attorney.

If it’s not that large, you should do three things:

1) Contact the Missouri Attorney General and file a consumer complaint. Their website is located at http://www.ago.mo.gov/consumercomplaint.htm and you can file online.

2) Contact the Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org/ and file an online complaint with them.

3) Contact RipOffReport.com at http://www.ripoffreport.com/ and tell your whole story on their website.

Leaving for 6 weeks. Will an extra filter help?

Hey, so, soon I am going to camp for 6 weeks, and my parents plan on feeding and that stuff, and I left them instructions on how to do a little water change, but I don’t think they’ll end up doing them. I know that that is the worst case scenario, that they don’t clean it at all, but do you think adding a second filter will help? How much cleaner will it make it? Anyways, if it wasn’t going to cost you much, would you get one? Thanks

Nitraban caused many fish death and white tank water for me. And an extra filter would defiantly help if your tank is underfiltered. Especially one like a fluidized bed filter. With this no one can kill your fish with overfeeding. Don’t worry about nitrates 6 weeks is nothing. Do a hefty 50-75% water change the day before you go. Fish can live fine in nitrates for a long time. I know this to be true. Just show your feeders how to feed and they will. Make a list of how to feed as well.

Isolated beach camping in South East QLD?

Hi all,

I’m after an isolated beach in SE QLD where I can go camping for a few days. I need to get away from the stress of work, and I have a bit of leave saved up, so I’m thinking 5-6 days on the beach by myself reading and fishing and chilling out sounds great.

So what I want is a really isolated beach – size doesn’t really matter but preferably a small beach, it can be tiny little cove even. I want somewhere were no-one ever goes and I won’t see another person the whole time I’m there. I don’t need facilities at all, I can take care of myself. Thing is, I don’t own a 4WD, only a little sedan so I need somewhere I can access with this (doesn’t matter if it’s dirt road, just not 4WD).

Does anyone know where I can find somewhere like this? I live in Brisbane by the way, so somewhere within 2-3 hours drive would be fantastic.
Also, any link to a google map would be excellent. Thanks guys!

Anybody that knows of such a spot would be keeping it a secret. My strategy has been to scour satellite photos for isolated spots. Be prepared to go off-road if you want a good spot.
